Application

This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to inspect the erection of prefabricated concrete elements on a construction site. It includes the inspection of safe work practices during the erection and temporary support of prefabricated concrete elements and the inspection of the erected elements.

It requires overseeing the use of plant, tools and equipment appropriate for the installation of prefabricated concrete elements and associated structural components, including temporary supports (propping and bracing), temporary and permanent connections, grouting, and vertical and horizontal joints.

Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code ofPractice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.
